Michael Flynn, Donald Trump's former national security adviser, has reached an undisclosed financial settlement with the Justice Department after suing for $50 million over alleged wrongful prosecution. Flynn had pleaded guilty in 2017 to lying to the FBI about conversations with Russia's ambassador during the investigation into Russian election interference, but later withdrew his plea and was pardoned by Trump in 2020. The current DOJ called the settlement a correction of "historic injustice" and criticized the Russia investigation as an abuse of power.
